"It's been a ritual, I've grown up worshipping Ganesha every year of my entire life & am blessed to celebrate the festival in my very own home. It is important to keep our culture and timeless beliefs in mind," says this young Bollywood starlet.

She shows a lot of maturity as she goes on to talk about tradition going hand in hand with protecting the environment. When Ranveer Singh made his debut with ‘Band Baaja Baaraat’, the gossip columns were abuzz for long about his romantic linkup with Anushkha Sharma. But now, since Ranveer has allegedly broken up with Anushka, it seems he has found a new shoulder to lean on and the beautiful shoulder belongs to none other than gorgeous Sonakshi Sinha.

Sonakshi has been very vocal in voicing her admiration for Ranveer. First she said on a TV chat show that she finds Ranveer hot and then she got a chance to share the stage with Ranveer at the IIFA Toronto in June (pic above). After the show the two have kept in constant touch. They were recently spotted holding hands at Pali Hill, Bandra, and this sparked the rumors that something is cooking between the two. However, the two deny any romantic linkup. Ranveer was quoted saying that he and Sonakshi have been interacting for “professional” reasons.

TODAY, AKSHAY KUMAR COMPLETES 20 YEARS IN BOLLYWOOD

TODAY, Akshay Kumar completes 20 years in the world of films as a leading man. It was way back on 23rd August 1991 that Akshay's first film as a solo hero, DANCER, had released. With an eventful journey that has lasted through its highs and lows, Akshay is one of the only five surviving superstars other than Aamir Khan, Shahrukh Khan, Salman Khan and Ajay Devgan who have completed 20 years in Bollywood.

When asked whether he had any plans to throw a bash to celebrate his 20 years stint in the industry, Akshay says, "The fact that I am still here is a celebration every day. I think I will definitely toast to my 20 years but I won't be screaming and shouting about it."

One wonders why he is being different when in B-town, celebrities are often known for finding an excuse to make much hue and cry about their smallest of achievements. Akshay smiles it all away though and says, "My peers have taught me that 20 years survival is something to be happy about but it is 40 years stint when you should be really proud of yourself."

Continuing in the humble tone, he adds, "I am still a beginner in the eyes of my idols like Mr. Bachchan. When other actors would want to work with me with similar passion that I have carried when it comes to working with Mr. Bachchan, only then would I think that perhaps I am worthy enough in this industry."

Well, here is looking forward to many more decades for you Akki!

PAKISTANI ACTRESS, MEERA HONOURED WITH SITARA - I IMTIAZ IN PAKISTAN

The Pakistani actress, Meera who is less known for her no-so-great performances in forgettable ‘Nazar’ and ‘Kasak’ and known more for her public tantrums. The actress is best known for her claim a few months ago that Mahesh Bhatt had physically abused her and was even possessive about her.

She went further to hold Bhatt responsible for driving her away from Bollywood. However, it seems that our tinsel town failed to tap her talents well and her performances are earning high appreciation in our neighbour Pakistan.

The actress has been conferred the ‘Sitara-i-Imitaz’, the third highest civilian honor in Pakistan. We wonder what Mahesh Bhatt has to say on this!!

JOHN ABRAHAM IN ALLAN AMIN'S "FORCE"

Well-known action director Allan Amin was the one to introduce Bollywood with the concept of stylized action and special effects. He all started with MISSION KASHMIR followed with QAYAMAT: CITY UNDER THREAT, DHOOM series, DUS, CHOCOLATE: DEEP DARK SECRETS and many more. However his upcoming action film "FORCE" starring John Abraham doesn't consist of the stylized action, which is in vogue.

Allan says FORCE is much different from his other films as the action here is much real, 'The action in FORCE is all real. We haven't made use of cables or any equipment or special effects for that matter. Moreover John has good caliber who did all the stunts by himself. What with lifting a bike or jumping off from a great height he did it all without the help of cables or airbags. And must say he performed it quite naturally.'

Certainly whatever Allan does he does it with much elan and elegance but what about the audiences who are used to watching stylized action these days and under such circumstances how FORCE action will appeal to the masses? To which he answers, "No it's completely stylized in its own way but without losing its originality. When you'll watch the film you'll come to know."

Ask him if it became a time consuming process to have real action and he says, "Though time consuming but it was fun shooting it naturally."

He may have designed best of the action sequences for the various films he did in his career but finds FORCE as his most challenging action film till date. "Yes FORCE has been the most challenging film in my career as it was all done without using any cables or any other aid," says Allan.

Allan further talks about the most difficult and the best action sequence in FORCE. "The most difficult was the one where John goes running behind several buses lined up and jumps from one bus to another as it was to be shot without the use of cables. While the best one was the bike sequence where John lifts the heavy bike and throws it. Actually I just asked John to lift it halfway but he decisively lifted the whole bike. Even the introduction scene of FORCE is one to watch out for."

Allan and John's bonding dates back to the time when John was about to make his mark in the industry. Says Allan, "I know John from long time. We have worked together for the films like KAAL, DHOOM, etc. We share a good rapport. There is a sort of good understanding and comfort level between us."

Ask him about the return of action genre or the genre gaining its lost glory and the prudent action master says, "It's just a phase of life where everything comes and goes back."

Allan becomes diplomatic when it comes to selecting his favourite action hero in Bollywood. "Everybody is good. I enjoy working with all of them," says Allan on a parting note.

GHAJINI VILLIAN, RETURNS AS "RAJDHARBHAU" IN "SHABRI"

Remember Pradeep Rawat, who played a dreadful villain "Ghajini" in Aamir Khan's blockbuster GHAJINI, named after the villain's name, is back to send a shiver down your spine, with his villainous act in upcoming film "SHABRI" directed by Lalit Marathe. Pradeep plays a crucial villain called Rajdharbhau in the film.

However, unlike GHAJINI where he made the protagonists of the film cry it seems Pradeep Rawat, who plays a cruel baddie in the film SHABRI, will be seen shedding some tears. As it so happened that while shooting for a scene he got so inspired that he refused to make use of glycerin and instead shed real tears for it.

The entire unit spontaneously stood up and clapped at the end of the shot. The moment is captured on camera during the making of the film.

Produced by Ram Gopal Varma SHABRI stars Isha Koppikar in the lead and all set to hit the screens on 26th August 2011.

BOTH AJAY DEVGAN AND SANJAY DUTT IN "RASCALS"

The first trailer of David Dhawan's upcoming film "RASCALS" is out. If the first trailer is any indication of things, RASCALS offers much fun and masala in a true David Dhawan andaaz.

The out-an-out comedy stars powerhouse performers like Sanjay Dutt, Ajay Devgan, Arjun Rampal and Kangana Ranaut. Sanjay and Ajay, who have their unique respective style of entertaining, will tickle the funny bones with their great comic timing in RASCALS. It seems Arjun Rampal plays a baddie in the film. The best part is when Sanjay and Ajay blow their own trumpets by using their respective films (ONCE UPON A TIME IN MUMBAAI and VAASTAV) as examples.

Another high point is the leading lady of the film - Kangana Ranaut for whom the two RASCALS vie for. The National award winning actress goes ultra glam for RASCALS. What with Kangana flaunting her sexy curves in a hot white bikini. This is the first time the dazzling lady dons a bikini for her film.

The film also stars AISHA fame Lisa Haydon.

Here's a sneak peak at the theatrical promo of the film RASCALS.

VETERAN ACTOR, SHAMMI KAPOOR IS DEAD

Veteran actor, Shammi Kapoor, who ruled the late 1950s and 1960s with his unique style and versatile range, passed away on Sunday, 14th August, 2011 at the Breach Candy Hospital here, family sources said.

He was 79. He is survived by his wife Neela Devi, son Aditya Raj and daughter Kanchan Desai.
According to the sources, he was on dialysis for the last few years and was undergoing the procedure at least thrice a week. He was on Saturday admitted to the ICU of the hospital.

The actor, who made his debut in Bollywood in 1953, when the film Jeevan Jyoti was released, carved out a niche for himself with the superhit Junglee in 1961.

His new image took ground and his subsequent films were all in this genre later.

Kapoor, hailed as 'Elvis Presley of India', joined the silver screen at a time when his elder brother Raj Kapoor, Dev Anand and Dilip Kumar were the reigning trio.

Kapoor was suffering from chronic renal failure, family sources said. The funeral will take place on Monday morning, they said.

Born Shamsher Raj Kapoor on October 21, 1931, Kapoor was the second son of veteran theatre and film actor Prithviraj Kapoor.

Despite his family background, Shammi's entry into Bollywood was initially not successful even though he worked with major heroines like Madhubala in Rail ka Dibba, Suraiya in Shama Parwana and Nalini Jaywant in Hum Sab Chor Hai.

His initial movies flopped at the Box Office. He reinvented himself with Tumsa Nahi Dekha cutting his hair in the famous duck-tail style of the 50s and never looked back since then.

With the success of Junglee in 1961, an entire decade reeled under its colourful impact.

Shammi heralded the swinging 60s and a large part of his appeal was primarily due to the immensely catchy and upbeat numbers like Suku Suku, O Haseena Zulfo Wali, Aaj Kal Tere Mere Pyar Ke Charche, Aaja Aaja Main Hoon Pyar Tera where he was at his boisterous best.

Even though success came with light weight tales like Kashmir Ki Kali, Rajkumar, Jaanwar and An Evening in Paris, his performances in flicks like Junglee, Badtameez, Bluff Master, Pagla Kahin Ka, Teesri Manzil, Brahmachari silenced his critics.

Andaz, which released in 1971, was his last movie as a leading man but his character roles in Vidhata, Hero and Prem Rog were well received.

Shammi was a computer aficionado and his last years were veered towards spiritualism.

KBC 2011 OFFERS 5 CRORES AS TOP PRIZE TO "AAM AADAMI"

If a KBC 2011 participant answers the thirteenth question right, he or she will carry home a cool Rs.5 crores home. The format of the show has been simplified with a 'Manchaha Padav' option. Participants will be able to pick their own 'padav' defending on their confidence levels. They will be subjected to a time limit to answer their questions till they reach the 'padav'. If they answer the questions correctly, they will be assured of taking away the winnings till that point. There will be no 'padav' or time limit thereon.

According to Sony Entertainment Television (SET) officials, they had received 45 lakh applications from 'aam aadami' from the hinterland of the Nation cutting across all caste, creed, sex, language, and regional barriers and their slogan 'koi insaan chota nahin hota' has had a terrific connect with the people. RAJNEESH DUGGAL COMEBACK WITH "PHHIR"

PHHIR, a dramatic thriller, is up for release and one can pretty much sense that despite a delay in arrival of his second film (after a successful 1920), leading hero Rajneesh Duggal is sounding very cool instead of being hassled. That's because he has always been of a strong belief that there is time for good things and whatever good or bad that he may have done in life, it would eventually come back to him.

"I have grown up on this belief and at our home we used to have 'Gita Saar' every morning where we were taught this virtue," Rajneesh says, "This is what impressed me about PHHIR as a subject as well since it tells the same tale. The story is based on karma and talks about the same virtues."

So while the film has karma playing a major role in the film, there are also two women-Adah Sharma and Roshni Sharma-who don't just spice the drama but also add on to the intrigue.

"Yes, they surely do," Rajneesh brings on a smile here, "I have two separate romantic tracks with both these women. Since Roshni is playing my wife in the film, there is obviously more romance with her when compared to Adah. On the other hand there is much more drama with Adah around. And then with me having three different looks in the film, it only adds up to it all. In fact one of the characters played by me is so grey that it used to take me 30-60 minutes to come out of it. As an actor it was an amazing experience for me."

PHHIR releases all over on 12th August.

AAMIR KHAN AND SHARMAN JOSHI - THE NEXT MUNNA BHAI AND CIRCUIT

There had been rumors for long that Sanjay Dutt and Arshad Warsi would not be a part of the next sequel to the ‘Munnabhai’ series and that Vidhu Vinod Chopra wanted fresh faces for Munnabhai and Circuit in his next edition of RajKumar Hirani’s Munnabhai’s franchise.

The latest addition to this news is the fact that Hirani is considering Aamir Khan and Sharman Joshi to step into these shoes. Hirani was impressed with the chemistry shared by the two in flicks like ‘Ran De Basanti’ and superhit ‘3 Idiots’ and thought that the pair could take the film to a higher and fresher level. When he shared the idea with Aamir, he loved it and said that he would definitely be a part of it provided the script appealed to him.
