LARA DUTTA IN "DON 2"

Bollywood hot celebrity, Lara Dutta will be playing the role of Shahrukh Khan’s moll in Don 2, the role that Eesha Koppikhar played in the original. Meanwhile, Priyanka Chopra will play the role of leading lady in the movie.

Icy winds started blowing the minute Priyanka landed on the Berlin airport. An insider revealed, “Lara was already there a week before PC. The two barely exchanged hellos with frosty smiles before they directed their warmth to SRK and the director Farhan Akhtar.”

These two beauties have had a long history. The two were crowned as Miss Universe and Miss World in the same year. They both started their career with the same movie Andaaz. Lara portrayed a role of grieving widow and had the author backed role, but it was Priyanka who walked away to stardom and the plum assignments with Khiladi No.1, Akshay Kumar. Since then, Lara has steered clear of working with PC, sources say that she was hesitant to sign Don 2 as well.

When Farhan assured her that he would flesh out her role, only then she agreed to sign the film. Also, SRK has a soft spot for Mahesh Bhupatis latest girlfriend, ever since she acted in his home production Billu, a part that every actress had refused.

Even without their past differences, things between them will never be easy. In Bollywood, whenever any two actresses shoot together, there is stress on the sets. The list of worries is endless; it starts from who has the better room, better fee, better clothes and it ends at better scenes. Piggy Chops was already wary, exhausted, and edgy when she reached Berlin a week after her former friend and now a rival had got comfortable with the unit. Over here Lara clearly has a head start.

These two divas have come face to face after six years and are not ready to act like the long lost friends. The biggest fact that they have uneven roles is enough reason for them to be suspicious about each other. One is promised to be the leading lady and the other has been promised an important role. The insecurities have already started to surface with both the ladies wanting to stay in their own corners for as long as they can.

A close source revealed, “To start with, their roles are unequal. If you see Eesha Koppikhar’s role in Don you will know what Lara is supposed to play. Priyanka has had a stressful dubbing and shoot, which she had to complete in two days. In addition, there was a section in the industry who wanted to demolish her performance in Anjaana Anjaani. She is left in a depressed state of mind. The last thing she would want in Berlin is stressful ambience.”

LEIGHTON MEESTER SHOOTING FOR "VERA WANG"

With the new scent due out in stores next summer, many of the details are being closely guarded at this point.

Supposedly getting $3 million for the work efforts, a source told the NY Post, "This is a huge deal for a young star and one that will turn some of Leighton's 'Gossip Girl' castmates green with envy."

THE MAGIC CHEMISTRY BETWEEN KATRINA AND AKSHAY

It is not often that a lead pair in a Bollywood film is remembered for the wonderful chemistry that the actors share onscreen. While the Shah Rukh Khan – Kajol jodi is the most talked about in B-town, contemporary actors Akshay Kumar and Katrina Kaif have carved a unique place for themselves onscreen. But is the pairing overrated? That is what the film critics would like to think, because every film which features the Akshay Kumar – Katrina Kaif pairing does well at the box office in spite of the fact that it does not have a good storyline to match.

Akshay Kumar and Katrina Kaif make a awesome couple on screen.. Of their five films together — Namastey London, Singh is Kingg and Welcome have been super duper hits. While the actors embrace themselves for upcoming release Tees Maar Khan, the question is whether a Farah Khan production will do well without lucky mascot Shah Rukh Khan. The promotion work for Tees Maar Khan is on its way and the promos look inviting to the eye, but keeping in mind therather storyline that Farah Khan usually follows, will the Akshay – Katrina chemistry be enough to draw audiences to the cinema? This is a question which can only be answered on Christmas Eve, when the film hits theaters.

Akshay Kumar though plays the cool guy. Brushing off any such over hype, Akshay confirms that the media can’t help talking about stars, and that the media is responsible if he and Katrina Kaif are the best leading pair of Bollywood. The audiences aren’t complaining though!

LAUREN CONRAD - THE REALITY QUEEN

Hollywood famous celebrity, Lauren Conrad has been officially named the "queen of reality TV" by former Hills castmate, Audrina Patridge, who could be in direct competition with Lauren's new reality show.

Audrina told both of their reality shows are different, Audrina says her new show will be raw, real, and about her family, while Lauren's will be about fashion.

Lauren has been doing reality TV for a long time, according to Audrina, and feels that there's room for the two of them on the small screen, and that there won't be that much competition.

In spite of Audrina's words of no competition, neither Lauren or Audrina will admit anytime soon that they do feel the competition with each other for who will get higher ratings. Surely, both Lauren and Audrina want to get the most eyeballs they can, and it looks like Lauren has a sure fire shot of doing that, while Audrina may hold her own for VH1.

However, all this could possibly become moot if MTV's U.S. version of Skins gets incredible popularity for its' raw look at adolence, making Jersey Shore and Teen Mom look like child's play.

RIHANNA LEAKS OUT CHRIS BROWN'S INCIDENT

Most people already know that Rihanna does not really like to talk about Chris Brown’s assault on her. However, just recently she came clean about it and said that it was a wake up call. Of course, it was not just a wake up call for her, but to young teen girls all over the country.

Rihanna went on to say that the assault that she suffered from her former boyfriend, Chris Brown was a big incident for her. Brown had attacked the singer shortly before the Grammy Awards in February of 2009. He later pleaded guilty to the assault and was sentence to five years of probation.

She said that God has a crazy way of working things out. Sometimes when things happens, people feel like they did not deserve it, or they ask what they did to deserve it.

Rihanna said that she needed a turning point. That is what she thinks God was giving her. Another important thing that came out of the assault was Rihanna standing up against Chris Brown. Young girls around the country, who look up to Rihanna, saw that they did not have to put up with abusive boyfriends.

Rihanna is due to release her new album called Loud next month. The record includes collaborations with Eminem and Drake.

EARLY CAREER:-

Rai made her movie debut in Mani Ratnam's Tamil film, Iruvar (1997) and had her first commercial success in the Tamil movie Jeans (1998). She came to the attention of Bollywood in the movie Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam (1999), directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali. Her performance in the film won her the Filmfare Best Actress Award. Rai was born in Mangalore to Krishnaraj Rai and Vrinda Rai. Rai then entered Jai Hind College at Churchgate for one year, and then moved to Ruparel College in Matunga to finish her HSC studies. She planned to become an architect, and started studying architecture, but gave up her education to pursue a career in modelling.

PERSONAL LIFE:-

Aishwarya is Hindu and deeply religious. Her favourite temple is a 200-year-old Lord Ganesha Temple. In 1999 Aishwarya began dating Bollywood actor Salman Khan; their relationship was often reported in the media until the couple separated in 2001. Rai cited "abuse (verbal, physical and emotional), infidelity and indignity" on the part of Khan as a reason for ending their relationship. However, in a 2009 Times of India article titled "Salman didn't hit Ash!" Khan denied ever beating her: "It's not true that I hit a woman."

Rai is married to actor Abhishek Bachchan. After much speculation concerning their relationship, their engagement was announced on 14 January 2007. The announcement was later confirmed by his father Amitabh Bachchan. The couple got married on 20 April 2007 according to traditional Hindu rites of the South Indian Bunt community, to which she belongs. Token North Indian and Bengali ceremonies were also performed. The wedding took place in a private ceremony at the Bachchan residence "Prateeksha" in Juhu, Mumbai. Though the wedding was a private affair intended for the Bachchan and Rai families and friends, the involvement of the media turned it into a national extravaganza. They have been cited as a supercouple in the Indian media. Rai has been very close to her family and lived with them in Bandra, Mumbai until her marriage

HER WORKS:-

In 2006, Rai starred in J P Dutta's Umrao Jaan, a second film adaptation of the Urdu novel Umrao Jaan Ada (1905), written by Mirza Hadi Ruswa. She portrayed courtesan and poetess by the same name from 19th century Lucknow. The film was a critical and commercial failure, though Rai's work was generally well received. Critic Taran Adarsh wrote, "Aishwarya Rai looks ethereal. She has looked heavenly and performed so convincingly. She emotes through her expressive eyes and the consistency in her performance is evident from start to end".Later that year she appeared as a master thief, Sunheri, in Yash Raj Films's Dhoom 2 directed by Sanjay Gadhvi, with an ensemble cast of Hrithik Roshan, Abhishek Bachchan, Bipasha Basu and Uday Chopra. The film turned out to be a blockbuster and became the highest grossing film of the year in India, earning revenues of over Rs 770 million domestically. The film also sparked a controversy for a scene containing a kiss between her and Hrithik Roshan. However, Rai's performance in the film received mostly negative reviews with a reviewer on Rediff.com writing, "Ash's character too is all gloss and no depth. You seldom feel any tension in her behaviour and expressions as she accompanies the master thief on potentially dangerous missions. Sunehri enters the film nearly 50 minutes after its opening in a disguise. In no time, she is wearing the flimsiest of clothes. Once she opens her mouth—and she does it two minutes after appearing in the film—she spoils the image. There is no sensuality anymore, and half an hour later, one wonders what made the master thief fall for her." Nonetheless, her performance earned her a sixth nomination for Filmfare Best Actress Award.

In 2007, she appeared in Mani Ratnam's Guru as Sujata. Speculated to be based on the life of Indian businessman Dhirubhai Ambani, it was a rag to richesstory about an ambitious small town man who ends up as the owner of the biggest corporation in India. The film was premièred at the Elgin Theatre in Toronto, Canada, making it the first Indian film to have a mainstream international premiere in Canada. The film was critically acclaimed and performed well at the box office. Critical reception for Rai was mixed. While Nikhat Kazmi from The Times of India wrote that she is "just okay and fails to register the growth in her character", Rediff.com's Raja Sen described it as "arguably her finest performance, visible especially when she takes over the film's climax." Rai got her seventh Filmfare nomination for Best Actress for the role. In the same year she starred in Jag Mundhra's British film Provoked as Kiranjit Ahluwalia (an NRI woman who killed her abusive husband after facing severe domestic violence) alongside Naveen Andrews. The film was panned by critics and was also a commercial failure, though Rai received positive reviews from critics. In the same year she appeared as a female Indian warrior from Kerala named Mira in Doug Lefler's epic film The Last Legion alongside Sir Ben Kingsley, Colin Firth and Thomas Sangster. The film was a critical failure.

In 2008, she starred alongside Hrithik Roshan in Ashutosh Gowariker's historical drama Jodhaa Akbar, a partly fictionalised account of the life of Muslim Mughal emperor Jalaluddin Muhammad Akbar, played by Roshan and his Hindu wife Jodha Bai, played by Rai. The film was a critical and commercial success, earning revenues of over Rs 590 million domestically. Rai's performance in the film was praised by critics, with Rajeev Masand writing, "Aishwarya Rai is wonderfully restrained and uses her eyes expertly to communicate so much, making this one of her finest outings on screen".She earned her eighth nomination for Best Actress at the Filmfare for her performance. Later that year she co-starred with husband Abhishek Bachchan and father-in-law Amitabh Bachchan in Ram Gopal Verma's Sarkar Raj, a sequel to his previous film Sarkar. She played the CEO of a major power company proposing to establish a new power plant in rural Maharashtra.

In 2009 she appeared in Harald Zwart's spy comedy film The Pink Panther 2 playing the role of criminology expert, Sonia Solandres. Like its predecessor, the sequel received negative reviews from critics and did a moderate business of $75,871,032 worldwide. In 2010, she collaborated with Mani Ratnam for a bilingual, with both versions featuring Rai portraying a character based on the goddess Sita. Both films were shot simultaneously, with Rai's role being one of the only roles which were played by the same performer in both versions.Though her portrayal of Ragini in both languages were praised, the Hindi Raavan alongside Abhishek Bachchan failed commercially, whilst the Tamil Raavanan, became a massive success.

On October 1, 2010, she appeared with Rajinikanth in the Tamil film Enthiran, directed by S. Shankar which has become the biggest blockbuster in India ever. She will also appear in Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Guzaarish opposite Hrithik Roshan, Vipul Shah's Action Replay opposite Akshay Kumar, Abhinay Deo's next film produced by Farhan Akhtar and Vishal Bharadwaj's next directorial venture.

In 2009 Rai was awarded the Padma Shri for her contributions to Indian cinema. In the same year she refused to accept the second-highest Order Of France, Ordre des Arts et des Lettres as her father was suffering from serious illness, and she wanted her whole family to attend the award function. She is only the fourth Indian actor after Amitabh Bachchan, Nandita Das and Shahrukh Khan to be chosen for an Order Of France. In June 2009, she was declared the Female Star of The Decade at the tenth International Indian Film Academy Awards held in Macau.

JESSICA SIMPSON TURNING 30, REVEALS SECRETS OF HER WEIGHT

Regardless of people constantly judging her weight and life, Jessica Simpson is really happy. During an interview with USA Today, Maria Shriver, and Ali Wentworth at the Women's Conference in Long Beach, California, the singer revealed why she's so happy, how she deals with the never-ending scrutiny of her body and what it was like to turn 30. She also addressed her recent run-in with ex-husband Nick Lachey.

"I went through a really hard time a couple years back with people just harping on the pressure of how to look perfect -- obviously using me and my weight. It was a tabloid frenzy," Simpson said.

She adds, "I feel like people are constantly curious as to how much I weigh or what I look like or what I wear."

Bottom line, she says she can't tune it out. "There's no way you're not going to be affected by the ugly things people say about you. It's very hurtful. It definitely brings up a lot of your own insecurities. It takes a great family and wonderful friends -- and love definitely helps, too -- to get through it," the singer said.

MORE EXCERPTS AFTER THE JUMP:

ON BOYFRIEND ERIC JOHNSON:

"He definitely makes me very happy. He brings out a lot of light in me and makes me very comfortable being who I am. It's nice to be with somebody who praises you for the right reasons."

ON GETTING MARRIED:

"Wedding? Right now I'm focused on my precious nephew and godson. I am from the South, so I've definitely dreamed of being married my whole life and having children, so hopefully that's in my future."

ON TURNING 30:

"I love being 30. The moment I turned 30, I really did feel a switch in my life. I was in Capri and I was with my boyfriend and my family and my friends, and I just felt this coming-of-age moment, this moment where I really just felt the happiest I've ever been, and I love the woman inside of me."

ON THE ROLE OF FOOD IN HER LIFE:

"When I'm hungry, I'll eat. When I'm not hungry, I won't. I m not really that much of a calorie counter, but I do think about it. I make sure I'm working out to make sure I feel good about myself.

"I'm from Texas, I like everything fried, which is the really unfortunate thing. My relationship with food? I want it when I'm sad. When I'm happy, I don't think much about it. But I do like to go out on a date for a good dining experience. It's important not to say, 'I can't have this' because then I obsess about it."

DHONI SAVES BIPASHA FROM MOB ATTACK

During a function in Surat, Gujarat, the security arrangement for Bipasha Basu fell apart after hundreds of overexcited male fans descended on the venue.

The mob surrounded Bipasha and some male fans even tried to touch her. Seeing this, Indian cricket captain M S Dhoni, who joined her for the promotional event, came to her rescue. He and a guard formed a cordon around Bipasha and led her through the mob.

But the hundreds of fans still kept on passing comments, some lewd, and tried to touch Bipasha. Like a true gentlemen, Dhoni ensured that nothing untoward happened.

However, in the pushing and shoving Bipasha did get a bruise on her forehead. But if Dhoni had not been there, the unruly mob might have done the unthinkable.
