LADY GAGA SPEAKS OUT AGAINST "DON'T ASK DON'T TELL"


Lady Gaga has some choice words for defenders of "Don't Ask Don't Tell," the policy that prevents gay men and women from serving openly in the military. The "Telephone" singer has released an 8-minute video urging the Senate to repeal the controversial policy. Wearing a black tie, white shirt, black coat, the 24 year-old pop starspeaks directly to a number of senators who have backed the law.

"I am here to be a voice for my generation. Not the generation of the senators who are voting, but for the youth of this country. The generation that is affected by this law, and whose children will be affected."

"We are not asking you to agree with or approve the moral implications of homosexuality," Gaga says in the video. "We are asking you to do your job — to protect the Constitution.

MAHESH BHUPATHI AND LARA DUTTA ARE NOW ENGAGED


Tennis star Mahesh Bhupathi and Bollywood actress Lara Dutta are now couple. They both made a public appearance together at the Filmfare awards. They for the first time came in the public notice together giving an indication that they are couple in love.

The actress and former Miss Universe 2000 split with her actor boyfriend Dino Morea, and was later seen with the tennis star on several occasions. Lara has also been in the middle of a controversy, with Bhupathi’s ex-wife Shwetha Jaishankar blaming her for the divorce with Bhupathi.

VANESSA HUDGENS IN PREMIERE OF "LEGEND OF THE GUARDIANS"


After an weekend,Vanessa Hudgens was out in Los Angeles, CA.

The "Sucker Punch" young girl looked darling as she turned up at the Los Angeles premiere of "Legend of the Guardians: The Owls of Ga'Hoole" held at the Grauman's Chinese Theatre.

As for the upcoming film, the animated flick - which going to release on September 24 is directed by Zack Snyder, starring Abbie Cornish and Ryan Kwanten.

A synopsis via IMDB tells: "Soren, a young barn owl, is kidnapped by owls of St. Aggie's, ostensibly an orphanage, where owlets are brainwashed into becoming soldiers. He and his new friends escape to the island of Ga'Hoole, to assist its noble, wise owls who fight the army being created by the wicked rulers of St. Aggie's. The film is based on the first three books in the series."

KAREENA TO CELEBRATE HER BIRTHDAY WITH SAIF


While most actors like to spend lavishly and take exotic breaks to celebrate their birthdays, Kareena Kapoor who turns 30 on September 21, will be shooting for beau Saif Ali Khan’s home production "Agent Vinod" in Latvia which is in Eastern Europe.The actress had earlier this year missed her sister Karisma`s birthday as she was shooting in London with Shah Rukh Khan for ‘Ra.One’. However, the silver lining for Kareena is that Saif will be with her.

Kareena will be away from Mumbai for a month long shoot. Her role in Agent Vinod is very demanding and requires her to do risky stunts. A bit of birthday celebration in between hectic shoots will lighten her up.

As for Saif’s special plans for Kareena, the actor is planning to surprise his lady by flying down her mother to Latvia. Talking about her packed schedule, Kareena said, “What can I do? I barely have time to breathe. I just came to Mumbai for two days after being away for 25 days. Now, I`m off to Latvia for over a month`s shooting.

"Confirming that the shooting of Madhur Bhandarkar`s "Heroine" has been postponed Kareena says, "Madhur is still working on the script. We`ll start shooting the film when the script is ready in the next three months. Right now, Madhur is busy with Dil To Bachcha Hai Jee."










MADONNA ON THE SET OF "W.E."


Getting down to business on her current directorial film, Madonna was seen on the set of “W.E.”

The “Material Girl” songstress, Madonna looked to be hard-at-work yet able to let loose and goof around on the Central Park in New York City set.

In another channel, it was said that soon-to-be CNN Primetime King, Piers Morgan, has banned Madonna from ever being a guest on his upcoming show.

Word has it, Morgan has the Queen of Pop at the top of the ban list because of beef between the two after Piers criticized her charity work as a publicity stunt.

LINDSAY LOHAN : PHILIPPE CHOW CHICK


Hollywood famous actress, Lindsay Lohan was seen hopping into her Maserati in West Hollywood, CA.

Looking gorgeous in her black brimmed hat with a white buttondown shirt and denim short shorts, the "Machete" actress sped away from paparazzi after dining at local favorite Philippe Chow.

In the midst of planning her post-jail/rehab comeback, Miss Lohan recently enlisted the services of former Britney Spears manager Larry Rudolph.

Of LiLo, Rudolph told Bang Showbiz, “Lindsay is in a good place now. When you’ve got that much talent – you can never count somebody like that out. She’s incredibly smart, she’s incredibly talented, and she’s a star. She has everything she needs.”

AJAY DEVGAN AND BIPASHA IN PRIYADARSHAN'S "AAKROSH"


When Hollywood has already reached home and it doesn't require much effort to hunt for an original, netizens have quickly managed to hint on the source of "Aakrosh". The name that at the top of the list is not a Hindi, Malayalam, Tamil or any other regional film. It is Oscar winner Hollywood flick "Mississippi Burning" (1989) which starred Gene Hackman and Willem Dafoe.

An industry observer says, "With the basic plotline seemingly similar for both the films, it wasn't hard to draw other parallels. While "Mississippi Burning" highlighted the divide of black and white, honour killing (which is the underlining theme of 'Aakrosh') is also making headlines due to cast divide in India."

"Also, both the films are hard hitting dramas and make an attempt to highlight a topical issue in a non-compromising manner. The actors chosen for both the films, in this case Ajay Devgan and Akshaye Khanna, are also known for their intense acts while the man at the helm of affairs, Priyadarshan, has always been known for his remakes. It is tough to ignore similarity points here", he adds.

But, Kumar Mangat , the producer of  "Aakrosh" denies any similarity between the two films. He says with a straight face, "Aakrosh" is based on a report that had appeared years back in a leading national newspaper. I remember how we all were shocked when the news break happened around three college going boys getting killed because one of them was having an affair with a higher cast girl."

"There was a CBI enquiry done and it was revealed that police, collector, a local local MLA - just about everyone was involved. We always wanted to make a film around this theme, adapted it to the current scenario and made "Aakrosh", he states the reason behind making "Aakrosh".

Most probably the film going to release on 1st October, 2010. Whether "Aakrosh" bears any similarities to "Mississippi Burning" would be known then but by the look of things, it can be rest assured that this Priyadarshan film does promise to bring with it quite some drama for the audience.

Also starring Bipasha Basu and Paresh Rawal plays a vital roles in "Aakrosh" which helped in pumping the glamour scene with an item number by Sameera Reddy and Urvashi Sharma. The film also stars Kumar Mangat's daughter Amita Pathak as well as Reema Sen who was seen in Priyadarshan's comedy "Malamaal Weekly".

MALIN AKERMAN AND RYAN PHILLIPPE IN "THE BANG BANG CLUB"


Malin Akerman and Ryan Phillippe were seen side-by-side for the premiere of “The Bang Bang Club” in Toronto, Canada.

It was held at Roy Thomson Hall as part of the 35th Toronto International Film Festival, the “Couples Retreat” cutie and her hunky co-star greeted fans and media members before heading inside to join co-star Frank Rautenbach and director Steven Silver for the evening screening.

As for the movie, “The Bang Bang Club” is a drama based on the true-life experiences of 4 combat photographers capturing the final days of apartheid in South Africa.

In one of the news, Miss Akerman just nabbed herself another movie gig – as she’s joined the cast of the Universal comedy “Wanderlust”.

Joining current cast members Jennifer Aniston, Paul Rudd and Justin Theroux, the movie is about “a married couple (Aniston, Rudd) who try to escape the trappings of modern society by moving from New York.”

ARJUN RAMPAL IN ACTION PACKED MOVIE "RA 1"


Arjun Rampal is now coming once again with Shah Rukh Khan in RA 1 after OM SHANTI OM and DON - THE CHASE BEGINS AGAIN. He has finished shooting for RA 1 where he plays the lead antagonist.

"The kind of energy that Shah Rukh Khan has brought into RA 1 is amazing. Just looking at him work brings so much spirit into you to go and perform well out there. Also, (director) Anubhav Sinha's way of working is infectious too.

Though not much is known about the plotline of the film, RA 1 is said to be a futuristic film belonging to sci-fi genre. With Shah Rukh Khan, Kareena Kapoor also plays an important role in RA 1.

"I have worked in the film and also see the rushes so I can confirm that for you," smiles Arjun, "Yes, it is the best action film ever made and is also the most ambitious and expensive of them all RA 1 is definitely going to be a special film when it comes out We are looking at a Summer 2011 release."

ANGELINA JOLIE VOTED AS "BEST CELEBRITY ROLE MODEL"


Snatching 43 percent of the vote, actress Angelina Jolie was voted "Best Celebrity Role Model" in a WENN poll. Jolie most recently visited Pakistan as a United Nations Goodwill Ambassador seeking solutions for those displaced by the recent floods.

Jolie was ahead of Oscar winner George Clooney, himself a United Nations Messenger of Peace, who took second place with 23 per cent.

It was bit surprise that Miley Cyrus ranked in third place with 15 per cent - she even scored more votes than campaigning rocker Bono, who had to settle for fourth place and just 14 per cent of votes.

Christian musicians Jonas Brothers rounded out the poll in fifth, with five per cent of votes.
