AYUSHMANN KHURRANA'S PATI PATNI AUR WOH DO SEES BIG DAY 2 GROWTH - EARNS ₹9.25 CRORE IN 2 DAYS

 

 

According to Hindustan Times, Pati Patni Aur Woh Do collected ₹5.75 crore net in India on Saturday from 6717 shows with a 16% occupancy rate. While these numbers aren’t great, the film showed a decent spike from its opening. On Friday, the comedy drama collected ₹4 crore net from 6822 shows with a 12% occupancy. The film’s domestic total now stands at ₹9.75 crore net in India, and it has collected ₹13.70 crore worldwide since its release.

These numbers are low compared to those of the first film starring Kartik Aaryan, Bhumi Pednekar, and Ananya Panday. The 2019 predecessor Pati Patni Aur Woh had collected ₹9.1 crore on its opening day and ₹12.33 crore on its second day. The film had a domestic total of ₹84.56 crore net, and it remains to be seen if the spiritual sequel will surpass those numbers. Pati Patni Aur Woh Do still has one more day to show improvement before the weekdays are expected to show a dip in numbers.

 

   SAIF ALI KHAN RECALLS THE CREATIVE ENERGY BEHIND SACRED GAMES

Saif Ali Khan recently opened up about why Sacred Games felt different from anything he had done before. According to him, the show wasn’t just another crime drama — it was one of the first Indian projects that treated audiences as globally aware viewers rather than formula-driven consumers.

He explained that the writers’ room reminded him of the kind of conversations he imagined happening on international prestige dramas. Historical references, political subtext, philosophy, and layered characters made the experience creatively stimulating for him. Saif said he rarely encountered that atmosphere in mainstream Hindi cinema at the time, which is why he “felt at home intellectually.”

The comparison with Narcos came from the ambition behind the project. Like Narcos used Colombia’s drug wars to tell a gripping human story with global reach, Sacred Games attempted to turn Mumbai’s underworld, politics, religion, and policing into a sprawling modern epic. Saif believed Indian storytelling finally had the scale and confidence to compete internationally.

What made Sacred Games stand out in 2018 was also its timing. Before it arrived, many Bollywood actors still viewed streaming platforms cautiously. Saif, however, saw OTT as creative freedom rather than a downgrade. The long-form format allowed deeper character development, morally grey storytelling, and cinematic production values that traditional television rarely offered.

His role as Sartaj Singh became especially important because the character was understated and vulnerable — very different from the invincible hero archetype common in commercial cinema. Saif has often mentioned that the emotional exhaustion and realism of Sartaj appealed to him more than conventional star-driven roles.

The success of Sacred Games also changed how major Hindi film actors approached digital platforms. After its popularity, streaming series quickly became mainstream for A-list talent, paving the way for darker, riskier, and more experimental Indian storytelling online.

Reports of actor Sushant Singh Rajput and long-time girlfriend Ankita Lokhande's wedding have been doing the rounds for a while now.

Sushant intends to settle down sometime next year and Ankita wants a typical Rajput style affair for the wedding.

If the busy actor gets some time off they will get married either in Udaipur or Jaipur.

The girlfriend expects him to ride an elephant to the marriage venue.

The couple has been in a relationship for over five years now.

NARGIS FAKHRI AFTER ROCKSTAR CAN NOW BE SEEN IN MADRAS CAFE WITH JOHN ABRAHAM

Almost two years have passed since the release of her debut big screen outing ROCKSTAR. Now that Nargis Fakhri is returning with John Abraham starrer MADRAS CAFE, one wonders how she looks back at the months gone by. Was it a period of anxiety, wait, euphoria, excitement or more?

'Two years? Wow, that's something; I never realised,' says Nargis in an animated tone, 'Well, the time just flew past by. After ROCKSTAR, it was all so overwhelming for me. I could never imagine or expect how my life could change so drastically. I spent quite some time contemplating whether I should really move to Mumbai for good.'

She did take the plunge though and while there was a waiting period involved before she signed her next, there were other activities related to the world of glamour that kept her occupied.

'I knew for sure that my life would change. I couldn't have been the same person as I was during ROCKSTAR. Meanwhile, I was engaged non-stop with script reading, advertisements, cover shoots, campaigns, shows and events. See, since I wasn't prepared as a person and as an actor, I had to educate myself. I took some Hindi classes as well. Everything that one can imagine, I prepared for. It was akin to going back to school.'

Meanwhile the very fact that she was being remembered and written about made her feel that she was doing something correct after all.

'Don't they say that any news is good news,' she laughs, 'If media was talking about me, it was fantastic. The fact that I was in there was a surprise for me too. Yes, some things written about me were untrue but then I can ignore that. Otherwise generally I took it all in a positive light. After all, if there are people out there who want to know more about it, it is good, isn't it?'

URVASHI SHARMA PREGNANT WITH HER FIRST CHILD

It was a moment of dual celebration for Sachin J Joshi as he completed the major portion of his film JACKPOT THE FULL JHOL and celebrated it by heralding his birthday. But what made the moment more precious was the fact that he was also a soon-to-be dad and his wife Raina Joshi nee Urvashi Sharma chose this occasion to let the world know this.

In fact, it was Raina who took this decision. We wanted it to be a simple thing that only the family was aware of for the first few months. I knew I had to await a surprise on my birthday, but the letter Raina wrote to me on a large cake was something very unexpected. I was so touched," says an emotional Sachiin.

Raina beams, "I was so happy to see Sachin happy. I wanted to convey my feelings that what he did for me matters always and I would be with him through thick and thin and this day would be always special for us. And thought, the writing on the cake would be the best. I am so happy he loved it."

SHAHRUKH'S "CHENNAI EXPRESS" RELEASING THIS "EID"

CHENNAI EXPRESS is going to be big. However 'how big' is the question that is making the rounds of trade, industry as well as the audience. While all sorts of numbers are being thrown around, the man of the moment, Shahrukh Khan, isn't making any statements in this regard. Of course he is promoting the film at all outlets but when it comes to making any proclamations, he is relatively quieter than ever before.

Is that the mid-40s syndrome when as an actor and a professional, he seem to have seen it and done a lot, if not all?

"I will tell you something. After my first 5-6 years in the industry, I started thinking of success very differently. When people think of success then they speak from an outsider point of view. From the point of view of a successful person, it is all very different. It is a whole lot of emotion that happens to very few people," says Shahrukh in a thoughtful tone.

He goes on to add, ''Of course finally the cliche is to work hard. See, I can't explain what success is. I just work. I don't sit and give lecture to my kids. It is a very strange place to be successful. People will have their own take on it. I feel happy if they understand it. I feel sad when they don't and can only say that 'arrey yaar, they haven't understood'. However I can't change them or their thoughts.''

No wonder, he has an entire different take on the film's definite entry into the 100 crore club and then the collections beyond.

'Well, if you are dreaming of numbers then why limit yourself to 100 or 200 crores? You may as well think of 5000 crores. That's how I see it. There is no point assigning a number against your success,' says Shahrukh before signing off.

AISHWARYA RAI BACHCHAN MAKING COMEBACK WITH ITEM SONG IN SANJAY LEELA BHANSALI'S "RAM LEELA"

Ash after all has been the original item girl for Hindi cinema, when she made her appearance in BUNTY AUR BABLI with 'Kajrare' song, which set the trend for mainstream heroines to appear in item songs thenceforth to improve the visibility quotient of a film. Even a Madhuri Dixit also succumbed to it in YEH JAWAANI HAI DEEWANI with her ghagra song.

For Ash the catch for her could be that a Kajrare happened eight years ago and after Kajrare she did not do an item song. On the flip side, the positive point for her would be that, if she agrees to do the item song for RAM LEELA, she can rest assured that the song would be trail blazing. After all, nobody picturises a song and conceptualizes it in the manner in which Sanjay Leela Bhansali does it. For Deepika Padukone it would be an interesting connection that she would be associated with two such films where biggies of Hindi cinema would have done an item number as Madhuri did it for YJHD and Ash could do it for RAM LEELA.

After sizzling as lead pairs in OMKARA and GOLMAAL, Superstars Ajay Devgan and Kareena Kapoor have been paired with each other in SATYAGRAHA.

There have been speculations about the star cast of "SHUDDHI" for a long time now. Finally Hrithik and Kareena have been finalized for the role.

Karan Johar says, "When Karan (Malhotra) came to me with SHUDDHI, his desire was to cast Hrithik and Kareena. I spoke to both of them and they were happy to be on board. The film is an intense love story and because it has a reincarnation theme, he has written a script that is dramatic and outstanding. Also, such a theme requires actors who can bring the desired intensity. To me, it is really an important casting. But I don't look at it as a coup. KATRINA KAIF'S LOSS IS DEEPIKA PADUKONE'S GAIN

Putting an end to all speculations, now it is confirmed that Deepika Padukone will be paired opposite Shahrukh Khan in his next home production HAPPY NEW YEAR. The film is directed by Farah Khan.

It was believed that Katrina Kaif was the first choice for the film, but due date problems she couldn't make it. Reportedly the actress has recently signed two film- Kabir Khan's next with Saif Ali Khan and Abhishek Kapoor's next opposite Sushant Singh Rajput.

For Deepika Padukone is like coming back to home, the actress who made her grand debut with Farah Khan's OM SHANTI OM and more than half a decade after her debut film, Deepika Padukone is pairing up with Shahrukh Khan again in CHENNAI EXPRESS.

As per the latest buzz, the film required SRK's heroine to speak fluent Marathi and probably, Katrina would have needed a long period of intense speech practice to sound like a prefect Marathi girl.

TODAY BOLLYWOOD FAMOUS SINGER, SONU NIGAM TURNS 40

Popular singer Sonu Nigam, who has rendered his soulful voice to Hindi, Kannada, Tamil, Assamese, Punjabi, Bengali, Malayalam, Marathi and Telugu music, turned 40 years on Monday.

The versatile singer started performing at the tender age of four years, while accompanying his father, Agam Kumar Nigam, for a stage show.

He started his Bollywood career at the age of 19.

In 1995, Sonu became popular as a television presenter by hosting one of the major singing reality shows on Indian television, 'Sa Re Ga Ma'.

He tasted success in the film industry with the song 'Sandese Aate Hai' from the film BORDER (1997).

The year 1999 proved to be a turning point in his career, as his album 'Deewana' was released and became a huge hit topping the charts. In the same year, he sung 'Yeh Dil Deewana' from the movie PARDES, which strengthened his foothold in Bollywood and marked his unique style of singing.

The singer has won several honours including two Filmfare awards, three IIFAA awards and one National award for the title track of 'KAL HO NAA HO.'

Influenced by the legendary pop singer Michael Jackson, Sonu released a tribute song 'The Beat of Our Hearts' in memory of the late singer Michael Jackson.

Sonu has judged many popular reality shows on television, like 'Amul Star Voice of India', 'Chhote Ustaad - Do Deshon Ki Ek Awaaz', 'X Factor (India)', 'Indian Idol'.

The singer married Madhurima on 2002 and has a son named Nevaan.

TODAY SANJAY DUTT TURNS 54 TODAY

Bollywood actor Sanjay Dutt, who is serving his three and a half years term at the Yerwada jail in connection with the 1993 Mumbai bomb blasts, turned 54 years today.

According to reports, his wife Manyata has penned down a poem and personal letters to surprise Dutt on his birthday.

Bollywood celebs have also geared up to make this day special for Dutt as media reports said actor Ranbir Kapoor, director Rajkumar Hirani and film producer Bunty Walia have written letters for him.

These letters were posted earlier so that they reached him at Yerawada jail on his special day.

Dutt made his acting debut in 1981.

Some of his hit films include KARTOOS, KHOOBSURAT, DAAG: THE FIRE, 'HASEENA MAAN JAYEGI and the award winning VAASTAV: THE REALITY, for which he won his first Filmfare Best Actor Award.

His role in 2000's MISSION KASHMIR won him critical acclaim and a number of awards and nominations, as did his subsequent performance in KURUKSHETRA.

He tasted immense success with the National Award-winning blockbuster 'MUNNA BHAI M.B.B.S. (2003), which also garnered him several awards.

UNTOLD FACTS OF AMITABH AND JAYA'S MARRIAGE

 

Amitabh Bachchan in a recent tweet has revealed that his movie ABHIMAAN which was released on 27 July 1973, today completed 40 years. Interestingly he also revealed that his marriage with Jaya Bhaduri too completes 40 years this year. The two had tied the nuptial knot on June 3, 1973.

Few may know that ABHIMAAN was inspired by the real life story of playback singer Kishore Kumar and his first wife Ruma Ghosh, who was a Bengal actress and a singer. Later ego hassles between the two lead to their divorce. Hence if you have seen the movie then note Amitabh Bachchan's name is intentionally called Subir Kumar akin to Kishore Kumar.

Coming to the marriage of Amitabh and Jaya, you many know that Jaya Bhaduri was quite attached to Hrishikesh Mukherjee as it was Hrishikeshdaa who gave her maiden break in Bollywood with Guddi. Later the duo shared a great understanding and both worked together in many movies like ABHIMAAN, CHUPKE CHUPKE, MILI, etc. In fact Jaya regarded Hrishikesh Mukherjee like his father. Hence during the making of ABHIMAAN when Amitabh and Jaya secretly decided to tie the nuptial knot, Hrishikesh Mukherjee was one among the selected few who attended the secret wedding. A depressed Jaya revolted, "You cannot do that. You are like my father and without your presence how I merry can?" Hrishikeshdaa broke into laughter and said, "Arre pagli ... Amit ne mujhe pehle hi invite kiya hai... Isliye ab mein Amit ke taraf se teri shadi mein Aangoonga! "

Hearing this Jaya's wiped her tears and hugged Hrishikeshdaa.

BIKINI CLAD KATRINA CAUGHT WITH RANBIR ON THE BEACH

Ranbir Kapoor and Katrina Kaif might chose to keep mum on their relationship, but their latest images speak a thousand words! In the latest edition of Stardust magazine, Ranbir is seen along with a bikini-clad Katrina on a beach. It is believed that the pictures were clicked during their Spanish holiday earlier this month.

Says Ram Kamal Mukherjee, the editor of Stardust, ''I think falling in love is beautiful. Ranbir Kapoor and Katrina Kaif never admitted in public that they are in love with each other. But Stardust and my team from USA were constantly on the run for exclusive images and information. When we got these images, we were sure that the couple is very much in love with each other. Ranbir never spoke openly about Katrina, neither did Katrina admit that she is in love with Ranbir. But I guess these images will clear all assumptions and put an end to the speculation.

VETERAN ACTOR, PRAN PASSED AWAY ON FRIDAY AT THE AGE 93

Veteran Bollywood actor Pran, who was remembered for films like played MILAN, MADHUMATI, BOBBY and ZANJEER passed away yesterday in a Mumbai suburban hospital. He was 93.

The actor, who was known for his roles as a villain, performed in over 400 films. He was awarded the country's highest cinema honour, Dada Saheb Phalke award, in April.

He is survived by his wife Shukla Sikand and two sons, Arvind and Sunil, and daughter Pinky.

HOT DEEPIKA IN "RACE 2"

 
Deepika Padukone has a slew of big films lined up this year. Taking a superb head start her first release of the year, RACE 2 has received a fantastic opening at the box office.

Infact the film has managed to cross the 100 crore mark and is yet running steady at the box office. This marks the first 100 crore for Deepika Padukone.

BOL BACHCHAN DISTRIBUTED FREE TICKETS IN MULTIPLEX

The BOL BACHCHAN team, Ajay Devgan, Abhishek Bachchan & Prachi Desai along with director Rohit Shetty, was present at Fame Adlabs this morning to distribute tickets of BOL BACHCHAN to the few lucky fans who were there.

It was a 'Free Show' for the fans who had come to watch the movie on the first day itself. Thousands had gathered to catch a glimpse of their favorite star and were seen cheering loudly.

"In the past there have been paid previews or free shows before the release of the movie. But this is the first time around that a unique screening was held where the fans got to meet their stars and watch the movie free on the day of the release," informs a source from the movie.
