BIPASHA WANTS TO COME KOLKATA FOR DURGA PUJA

Bengali beauty Bipasha Basu is dying to go home to join her family for Durga Puja celebrations. She said that wherever you stay, home is the best place to come back to rest and relax and when it is a festive time, everyone wants to celebrate it with family and friends.

"Missing Ma and Papa! "Aakrosh" releases on 15th October, otherwise I would have gone to Kolkata to celebrate Durga Puja, " Bipasha posted on her Twitter page.

Now, she will leave for her home town on October 16, which is also her mom’s birthday.

She likely to visit Kolkata with John whose film "Jhootha Hi Sahi", is also releasing on the same day. The 31-year-old actress has earlier wished everyone through Twitter on Mahalaya. She posted that Goddess Durga is coming to bless everyone. The actual celebrations of Durga Puja festival starts in Kolkata on October 13. However, she will not miss the flavor of the festival, if she manages to reach on October 16 too. John and Bipasha will take the blessings from the Goddess, so that their films do well at the . We wish their wishes come true!

MINKA KELLY - SEXIEST WOMAN ALIVE, 2010

Minka Kelly now has a new title she can boast. The "Friday Night Lights" actress has been named the Sexiest Woman Alive 2010 by Esquire magazine.

But Kelly, who is pictured posing seductively in lingerie for the November issue of the men's magazine, admits she didn't always feel glamorous growing up - as the daughter of a struggling stripper.

Opening up about hard times and her late mother, she says, "My mom lived a fast life. It was all about what we could do to have fun with nothing. She - for most of my life, she was a dancer. An exotic dancer. She was a stripper. So she would come home at like three, four o'clock in the morning and sometimes she would have a really great night, and she would wake me up in the middle of the night and we'd go to (Los Angeles grocery chain) Ralphs and go grocery shopping."

But Kelly made the best of her upbringing: "And that was so much fun. We'd have the whole grocery store to ourselves, and we would have a blast and buy a hundred dollars in groceries. And it was just the best day ever. The best day."

BACHCHAN TURNS 69 TODAY

Today Amitabh Bachchan  turns 69. He was born on 11th October 1942. He first gained popularity in the early 1970s as the "angry young man" of  Bollywood cinema, and has since become one of the most prominent figures in the history.


Bachchan has won numerous Awards in his career, including four National Film Awards, three of which are in the Best Actor category, and thirteen Filmfare Awards. He holds the record for most number of Best Actor and Best Supporting Actor nominations at the Filmfare Awards. In addition to acting, Bachchan has worked as a playback singer, film producer and television presenter, and was an elected member of the Indian Parliament from 1984 to 1987.

EARLY LIFE:-


He was born in Allahabad, Uttar Pradesh. His father, Dr. Harivansh Rai Bachchan was a well-known Hindi poet, while his mother, Teji Bachchan was a Sikh-Punjabi from Faisalabad. Bachchan was initially named Inquilaab, inspired from the famous phrase Inquilab Zindabad, during the Indian independence struggle, but was re-named Amitabh which means, "the light that would never go off." Though his surname was Shrivastava, his father had adopted the pen-name Bachchan, under which he published all his works. It is with this last name that Amitabh debuted in films, and, for all public purposes, it has become the surname of all members of his current family.

Amitabh is the eldest of Harivansh Rai Bachchan's two sons, the second being Ajitabh. He attended Allahabad's Jnana Prabodhini and Boys' High School (BHS), followed by Nainital's Sherwood College, where he majored in the art stream. He later went on to study at Kirori Mal College of the University of Delhi and completed a Bachelor of Science degree. In his twenties, Bachchan gave up a job as freight broker for the shipping firm, Bird and Co., based in Calcutta now known as Kolkata, to pursue a career in acting.

Bachchan is married to actress Jaya Bhaduri. They have two children, Shweta Nanda and Abhishek Bachchan. Abhishek is also an actor and is married to actress Aishwarya Rai.

KATE GOSSELIN OPENS UP ABOUT SCHOOL PREPARATION

Keeping herself busy over the weekend, Kate Gosselin was seen out running errands in Reading, Pennsylvani.
 
The 35-year-old lady hit up the local tanning salon before making stops at Starbucks and Fed Ex as she brought an end to her weekend errand needs.

In one of the news, Gosselin finally got back to her blog with a new post on Friday after quite the lengthy hiatus. The TLC reality star mom wrote: Who ever knew this full-time school thing could or would be soo difficult! I am truly exhausted! I have gotten up each and every morning (in the dark!) at 5:20 am to make breakfast (the full deal -- pancakes, oatmeal, French toast, etc) and get eight kids dressed and out the door to the bus stop for over a full month now!

I don't know why -- well, scratch that. I do know why it feels so much different than just getting two kids up full time and six ready part time.. It's because Mady and Cara pack their own lunches, choose their own breakfast (the night before to avoid the morning arguments of what they will and will not eat for breakfast -- it helps!), and get themselves ready.

My six kindergarteners, although they are finally getting into the daily routine (as opposed to part-time routine of last year), want to talk -- about airplanes, butterflies and anything but getting dressed and putting socks and shoes on... At 6:30 am! We are racing that darn clock every morning!

Whew! By the time the kids are settled into bed at 7:30 .. I assure you that nothing else gets done... I am pooped ... And I'm in bed by 7:31pm.

It's been quite a transition here ... And, well, actually, I prefer to call it my first marathon I've ever run ... does that work?? I hope I at least place for determination... Smile!!!

SRK AND KATRINA : BOLLYWOOD HIGHEST TAX PAYERS

Beating Akshay Kumar, Shah Rukh Khan became the number one tax payer in the film industry for the second quarter of the financial year 2011. The King Khan is paying Rs. 5 crore to the Income Tax (IT) department.

Akshay Kumar is now in second position paying Rs. 4.5 crore, followed closely by Aamir Khan who paid Rs. 4 crore to the IT department.

Pataudi son Saif Ali Khan and Kapoor khandaan prince Ranbir Kapoor share the fourth position by paying Rs. 2.5 crore each. Salman Khan paid only Rs. 2 crore compared to the Rs. 2.5 crore he paid in the same quarter last year.

Among the actresses it was Katrina Kaif who came out on top, paying Rs. 1.3 crore, followed by Kareena Kapoor, who paid Rs. 1 crore.

Hrithik Roshan paid a miniscule Rs. 50 lakh compared to the Rs. 3 crore he paid in the second quarter of the 2010 financial year. Director Sanjay Leela Bhansali gave Rs. 50 lakh this year compared to Rs. 25 lakh last year. Similarly, Vishal Bharadwaj gave Rs. 25 lakh against Rs. 15 lakh last year to the IT department.

Lady Gaga has some choice words for defenders of "Don't Ask Don't Tell," the policy that prevents gay men and women from serving openly in the military. The "Telephone" singer has released an 8-minute video urging the Senate to repeal the controversial policy. Wearing a black tie, white shirt, black coat, the 24 year-old pop starspeaks directly to a number of senators who have backed the law.

"I am here to be a voice for my generation. Not the generation of the senators who are voting, but for the youth of this country. The generation that is affected by this law, and whose children will be affected."

"We are not asking you to agree with or approve the moral implications of homosexuality," Gaga says in the video. "We are asking you to do your job — to protect the Constitution.

MAHESH BHUPATHI AND LARA DUTTA ARE NOW ENGAGED

Tennis star Mahesh Bhupathi and Bollywood actress Lara Dutta are now couple. They both made a public appearance together at the Filmfare awards. They for the first time came in the public notice together giving an indication that they are couple in love.

The actress and former Miss Universe 2000 split with her actor boyfriend Dino Morea, and was later seen with the tennis star on several occasions. Lara has also been in the middle of a controversy, with Bhupathi’s ex-wife Shwetha Jaishankar blaming her for the divorce with Bhupathi.

VANESSA HUDGENS IN PREMIERE OF "LEGEND OF THE GUARDIANS"

The "Sucker Punch" young girl looked darling as she turned up at the Los Angeles premiere of "Legend of the Guardians: The Owls of Ga'Hoole" held at the Grauman's Chinese Theatre.

As for the upcoming film, the animated flick - which going to release on September 24 is directed by Zack Snyder, starring Abbie Cornish and Ryan Kwanten.

A synopsis via IMDB tells: "Soren, a young barn owl, is kidnapped by owls of St. Aggie's, ostensibly an orphanage, where owlets are brainwashed into becoming soldiers. He and his new friends escape to the island of Ga'Hoole, to assist its noble, wise owls who fight the army being created by the wicked rulers of St. Aggie's. The film is based on the first three books in the series."

KAREENA TO CELEBRATE HER BIRTHDAY WITH SAIF

While most actors like to spend lavishly and take exotic breaks to celebrate their birthdays, Kareena Kapoor who turns 30 on September 21, will be shooting for beau Saif Ali Khan’s home production "Agent Vinod" in Latvia which is in Eastern Europe.The actress had earlier this year missed her sister Karisma`s birthday as she was shooting in London with Shah Rukh Khan for ‘Ra.One’. However, the silver lining for Kareena is that Saif will be with her.

Kareena will be away from Mumbai for a month long shoot. Her role in Agent Vinod is very demanding and requires her to do risky stunts. A bit of birthday celebration in between hectic shoots will lighten her up.

As for Saif’s special plans for Kareena, the actor is planning to surprise his lady by flying down her mother to Latvia. Talking about her packed schedule, Kareena said, “What can I do? I barely have time to breathe. I just came to Mumbai for two days after being away for 25 days. Now, I`m off to Latvia for over a month`s shooting.

"Confirming that the shooting of Madhur Bhandarkar`s "Heroine" has been postponed Kareena says, "Madhur is still working on the script. We`ll start shooting the film when the script is ready in the next three months. Right now, Madhur is busy with Dil To Bachcha Hai Jee."

MADONNA ON THE SET OF "W.E."

Getting down to business on her current directorial film, Madonna was seen on the set of “W.E.”

The “Material Girl” songstress, Madonna looked to be hard-at-work yet able to let loose and goof around on the Central Park in New York City set.

In another channel, it was said that soon-to-be CNN Primetime King, Piers Morgan, has banned Madonna from ever being a guest on his upcoming show.

Word has it, Morgan has the Queen of Pop at the top of the ban list because of beef between the two after Piers criticized her charity work as a publicity stunt.
