SHAHRUKH AND KAREENA IN A NEW ROLE IN "RA.ONE"

It seems slang and foul language suits well Bollywood actress, Kareena Kapoor. Filmmakers, audiences love watching Kareena mouthing some cuss words.

It all started with her award winning film CHAMELI, where she played a prostitute with bindass attitude and used some swear & cheeky words. However it was in the film JAB WE MET when she uttered 'Tere Maa Ki ...' while abusing her beau, audiences went berserk watching her. Followed with the film GOLMAAL 3.

And now in her upcoming film RA.ONE Kareena would be once again seen hurling abuses. However, this time around on none other than Bollywood superstar Shahrukh Khan. In the recently released promo of RA.ONE we can see Kareena frenziedly raining gaalis on Shahrukh, who plays her husband in the film. Bebo is heard yelling, 'Tere baap ki... Tere tau ka poda...' She plays a bindaas Punjabi girl who doesn't worry about her lingo or what she is saying. However, her cute kid does remind her of the foul language every now and then.

Surprisingly whenever Kareena mouthed bad words it did wonders for the film and became a huge hit. Hope her abusive language do the same magic for RA.ONE too.

DEMI LOVATO - SPOTTED AT CASA VEGA MEXICAN RESTAURANT

Kicking off her week with a delicious dinner out, Demi Lovato was seen at Casa Vega Mexican restaurant in Los Angeles last night.

The “Skyscraper” songstress donned a black hat to go with her black nad white striped top and short black skirt with black stockings and black high-heeled boots.

On her new album Unbroken, Demi enlisted the services of silky smooth singer Jason Derulo on her track “Together.”

Derulo explained, "The song is called 'Together' and I just really just happened to be in Miami. I'm very rarely in Miami and I live in Miami, but before the time I was there, I was there like six months prior and then I haven't been there for a long, long time. But I guess they knew that I lived in Miami. A mutual friend called me and was like, 'Hey, we're at the studio, Demi wanted to get in with you if you were around.'"

"I came down to visit my grandfather for a day, so I went in at like 3 a.m. and we knocked it out. We were there till about 9 in the morning, but it was really cool."

TODAY BIG B "AMITABH BACHCHAN" TURNS 69

TODAY, Amitabh Bachchan turns 69 who born on October 11, 1942 in Allahabad. He is the son of late poet Harivansh Rai Bachchan and Teji Bachchan. Amitabh Bachchan did his schooling from Sherwood College, Nainital and later on pursued a degree in science from the Delhi University. His first job was in Shaw Wallace and later worked as a freight broker for a shipping firm called Bird and Co. But his destiny had something else to offer and it was the journey to stardom.

He made his debut in the film Saat Hindustani (1969) which was directed by K.A. Abbas. Film failed on the box-office but Amitabh was noticed by film makers like Hrishikesh Mukherji and Sunil Dutt. Hrishikesh Mukherji (whom Amitabh treat as his Godfather),gave him a role in his two films, Anand and Guddi. Anand was the third film, which became a hit and he got best supporting actor filmfare award. Amitabh was getting the roles but they were not significant. Finally he got a chance to work in "Zanjeer", role for which he was not the first choice. Film turned out to be super-hit. By then a new avatar had emerged on silver screen, an "Angry young man". But this was his one aspect.

He was a poet (Kabhi Kabhi), an decent professor (Kasme Vaade), a comedian (Chupke Chupke, Amar Akbar Anthony, Don), a dying lover (Mukaddar Ka Sikander). He did almost all kinds of roles. In 1973, after release of Zanjeer, Amitabh got married with Jaya Bhaduri. He became father at the time of release of Chupke Chupke. During the shooting of "Coolie" on 26th July 1982, he was injured and admitted to Breech Candy hospital. The whole nation prayed for his fast recovery and by the grace of God he was gifted with a new life. Mrs. Indira Gandhi, then P.M. of India, postponed her foreign trip and visited the hospital.

After recovery Amitabh returned on silver screen, with Sharabi and Giraftar like hit movies. In the original script of "Coolie" Iqbal (Amitabh) had to die but Teji Bachchan asked Manmohan Desai to change it for her personal reasons. The last scene where he stands in the balcony and thank the people, was the real scene, a way to thank the people of India, "Main to chala gaya tha, laut aaya hoon to bus aapki duaon se...." Amitabh also tried his hand in politics in 1984 after the death of Mrs. Gandhi. He defeated the then called Chankya of the Indian politics, Hemvanti Nandan Bahuguna. But some how things went wrong and he got trapped in the dirty game of politics of anti-Rajiv Gandhi. Although during this period his classics "Main Azad Hoon" and "Agneepath" were released, but Amitabh was getting older. Amitabh decided to take a break in 1992, Khuda Gawah was the last release.

He then launched ABCL which was a multi-faceted commercial enterprise. This was the major failure and he was surrounded by unthinkable debt. This is hard to imagine at that time how he survived but again he proved that he is not an ordinary man who live and die. With "Kaun Banega Crorepati" and "Mohabattein" he redefined his position in Indian cinema. Amitabh emerged again as a winner and slapped the critics who declared him "finished". Even in this age roles are written for him. Every film maker is dreaming to cast him in his/her film. He was declared as Star of the Millenium by BBC poll, by Stardust and even at the survey for statue at Madam Tusad. These are not mere coincident! May God bless him.

AMANDA KNOX - SEXUALLY HARASSED IN ITALIAN PRISON

She’s in the midst of a dramatic transition from life in an Italian prison to walking free in her hometown of Seattle, and Amanda Knox is still decompressing from it all.

According to a report, Knox was sexually harassed by the jail workers and at one point she was even falsely told that she was HIV positive.

Amanda was forced to compose a list of all of her sexual partners which was then distributed to Italian media for publishing.

At the time, Knox journaled, “Please oh please, let it not be true. I don’t want to die.”

And Judy Bachrach of Vanity Fair speculated, "I think the Italian courts ... practically made sure that Amanda was going to be harassed in prison, since they made her sex life so much of a focus of the first trial.”

GHAZAL SINGER "JAGJIT SINGH" PASSES AWAY TODAY AT THE AGE OF 70

Acclaimed ghazal singer Jagjit Singh died on Monday in Mumbai. The 70-year old was admitted to Mumbai's Lilavati hospital after he suffered brain hemorrhage last month. He underwent two surgeries and was on life support.

Born on February 8, 1941, 'the ghazal king' was a singer, composer, activist and entrepreneur. He has sung in several languages including Hindi, Urdu, Punjabi and Nepali. Jagjit Singh entered the music circuit at a time which was primarily dominated by Pakistani ghazal singers, and Indian singers were considered relatively lesser authentic than their Pakistani counterparts.

Unlike other ghazal singers, Singh did not hesitate in lending his voice for films. His silky voice ruled during early 80's in films like Prem Geet, Saath Saath and Arth. However, his major work is spread over more than 60 filmy and non filmy albums.

Jagjit Singh was also known for modern approach and infusion of technology in the traditional art of ghazal singing. Singh was the first Indian music director to use the technique of multi-track recording for his album 'Beyond Time'.

Recipient of Padma Bhushan award, Jagjit Singh was the man behind making the ghazal genre available and understandable to all. Prior to Singh, ghazal singing was considered as an elite art, which was difficult for the common mass to understand due to high class Urdu and Persian.

Jagjit Singh broke this myth by coming up with songs such as 'Kaagaz ki kashti', 'Chaak jigar ke', 'Kal chadhanvi ki raat thi', and 'Shaam se aankh me name si hai'. He mixed the words of legends like Ghalib, Qateel Shifai, Firaq Gorakhpuri, Nida Fazli and Sudarshan Faakir with melodious indigenous tunes and achieved a state where nothing came in between him and his listeners.

Later when television started showcasing music videos, he was among one of the prominent members of the music fraternity to avail the facility. He again came up with brilliant albums such as 'Face to Face', 'Marasim', 'Aaeena', and 'Dil Kahin Hosh Kahin'.

Jagjit Singh had also given his voice for ex-prime minister Atal Bihari Bajpayee poems in the albums 'Nayi Disha' and 'Samvedna'.

Jagjit Singh is survived by his wife Chitra Singh, with whom he had produced several record breaking albums. Their only son Vivek Singh had died in a road accident in 1990.

NEW MOVIE "AAZAAN" HITTING THE SCREEN COMING FRIDAY

'My name is Khan and I am not a terrorist' - so said Shahrukh Khan in the Karan Johar drama that released last year. Seems Shahrukh's statement influenced his friend and entrepreneur turned producer/actor Joshi so much that he went ahead and made an entire film around the same statement - Sachin AAZAAN

Says a source, "Obvious reference point for AAZAAN is Shahrukh's MY NAME IS KHAN which again made its statement against terrorism and the plight of Muslims across the world. However it managed to do that successfully without beating the jihad drum and hence conveyed the message in its own powerful way. AAZAAN has taken a similar route as well by not hoisting the jihad flag."

With the kind of approach AAZAAN has taking, it is only apparent that the film, which is said to be the biggest ever espionage thriller made in Bollywood, isn't being one of those regular lavishly mounted action affairs but digs its roots deeper down.

"See, I loved MY NAME IS KHAN and Shahrukh showed his unique way of fighting the system. I salute that," acknowledged Sachiin, "However there are different ways of fighting it out and in AAZAAN I have done just that by also bringing the espionage element. The film shows that how an Indian Muslim can go against all odds and emerge a winner if he has the willpower. Unlike many out there who just touch the sensitive issues, we have also taken a step forward to answer them."

Well, we would know if this is indeed true once AAZAAN hits the screens coming Friday.
